About the initiative
Resident-led, without claiming to represent every resident
Open the Lawn at Zhenhua Park is a resident-led, nonpartisan community initiative. We want to use evidence, dialogue, and practical proposals to increase meaningful public access to the central lawn.
A lawn kept pristine by keeping people off it is landscaping, not meaningful public space.
Our position
We support necessary and proportionate maintenance. Repair, turf establishment, extreme weather, or a clear safety concern may justify temporary restrictions.
We are asking for a better balance: reasonable scope, limited duration, clear reasons, and understandable reopening criteria.
Who we are
This initiative was started by nearby residents. It is not a political party, candidate, registered legal entity, or nonprofit, and it does not claim to speak for everyone.
We are willing to work with agencies, elected representatives, experts, media, and residents who hold different views.
How we work
We distinguish resident observations from official records and third-party reporting. We do not present estimates as city statistics or speculate about anyone's motives.
Public material will not identify residents, workers, children, or pets involved in conflict, and it will not encourage people to disregard a clear safety restriction.
